 The Endless Race

Dark clouds meet the wild rolling sea

Stretching as far as the eye can see

As wind and sea march hand in hand

Their quest to find some far off land

Across this barren windswept scene

Now an angry grey, no tranquil green

As the wind cries out with furious roar

The race now on to reach the shore

A servant now to the wind's great call

Waves reach a peak and forward fall

Troughs now streaked by trails of white

This turmoil shows the sea's great might

Great waves forever onward roll

Racing forward to meet their final goal

With a helping hand from moon and tide

Now the wind a sister by their side

The distant shore grows ever near

As waters shallow the waves now rear

In a final surge towards the land

They spend their force on golden sand

Wind crosses the land on it's onward drive

Rain pours down from the leaden sky

Moving out to sea at relentless pace

Girding it's loins for another race
