THE LAKE OF JEWELS

White capped peaks guard the lake below

filled by years of falling snow

the sun comes over the mountain crest

mother nature looks her very best

Tree lined shores like soldiers tall

make an avenue to the glaciers fall

an eagle soars way up on high

it's prey below, under watchful eye

Waters change to a diffirent hue

from emerald green to azure blue

the sun goes down and air turns cold

colours now change to burnished gold

Reflections make the water dance

this timeless beauty to enhance

natures song now fills the air

as birds and creatures meet to pair

As autumn nears leaves start to shed

falling gently to earth's soft bed

winds pick up gales start to blow

fortelling of the coming snow

Snow clad mountains all around

now reverbrate to diffirent sound

joyful shouts from young and old

braving the ice and winters cold

Trees now heavy laden with snow

earth's creatures hibernate below

temperatures drop the waters freeze

as winter comes to Lake Louise
