A Lesson to be Learned
Often life can be taken for granted
As we rush through our given years
We have no time to stop and consider
Good advice that is given by peers
Often guilty of thinking we know it all
Words of wisdom we cast from our mind
But when things start to quickly unravel
We can soon find ourselves in a bind
If only we would stop and listen
To what our elders all had to say
This world would be a far better place
For young people to live in today
They learned from experiences good and bad
So they know what this life is about
Passing on their wisdom and knowledge
That could help us resolve fear and doubt
Even now we just keep on ignoring
Their advice passed down through the years
How to live in peace with each other
And bring an end to all heartache and tears
So let us all come close together
Bring an end to all conflict and strife
Take care of the suffering children
Give them peace, and a far better life.
